Our Story: A Journey from Café to Steakhouse Excellence
In 2017, we—Andy and Tanya, a husband-and-wife team—opened our doors as a humble café, dedicated to serving traditional English cuisine.
Nestled in the heart of our beloved community, we took great pride in sharing the timeless flavours of Devon with our guests. Then, 2020 came with challenges no one could have anticipated. Like many in the industry, the global pandemic forced us to close our doors. But in that time of uncertainty, we found inspiration to reinvent ourselves. Andy, a passionate chef, conceived a bold new idea—a steakhouse that would set itself apart by serving locally sourced steaks on hot lava stones.
The sizzling lava stone sears the steak right at your table, locking in incredible flavours and giving each bite a unique and unforgettable taste. By reopening with this fresh concept, we not only survived but thrived, continuing to serve the community we've always loved, alongside visitors from all over the world. Our focus on using the finest local Devon produce has left guests—from near and far—impressed by the rich, authentic flavours that our region has to offer.
